The African Room

ina kwana

Perfect for Cape Charles weekend getaways, the African Room is named for the two years that the owner lived in Ndjamena, Chad in Africa’s central region. A warm and cozy room, it brings back memories of wild animals, amazing adventures, and the sub-Saharan setting. It features handmade batiks from a museum in Niger, a unique carved wood chair from Cameroon, handmade wood wall hangings from South Africa, and a tribal rug from Mali.

There is a queen-size bed with plenty of plump pillows, a down quilt for those cool nights, and a docking station for your phone. The large, private bathroom is decorated with some of the many wooden African combs that the owner has collected. The full bathtub and shower offer plenty of soft, plush towels and a hairdryer. All windows have room-darkening shades for those mornings you just want to sleep in.

The African Room is calling you.
